On a Friday night in Jupiter Florida the place you want to be is at Abacoa, off Donald Ross Rd, where you'll find a href="https://civilsocietybrewing.com/">Civil Society Brewing Co and on Friday's they have a food truck rodeo. We made our way through the crowds, past what seemed like 100 food trucks and near the end of the block we found Civil Society. We studied the menu and ordered a flight to sample the brews. That night, all they were serving were IPAs. While they poured, we snagged a table with our friends. They handed the flight over the wall to us. The glasses nice variation of dark to light. First up was Ritual (3.7% ABV) a Petite Saison. It was mild, mellow and easy to drink. Next, Emerald Shower IPA (5.5% ABV), it was much hoppier with notes of pine resin. Shmedium XL Double IPA(8% ABV), was a nice IPA with a hint of strawberry. Weapon of Choice (7.5% ABV), we could detect a taste of cittra hops. We finished with a pint of Mera Dost Imperial Stout (8% ABV) it had a tiny bitterness reminiscent of an IPA stout blend. While we enjoyed our tasty craft brews we stepped outside to grad a bite form the food truck. I came back with two BBQ Sundae's, 16 oz cups full of smokey BBQ pork topped with beans, and slaw. Oh it was so good. The food went well with the brew. From our table we could see rows of fermentors and brew equipment. AS in most breweries, the brewhouse was idle during the crowded times of the night. It all mixed well for a fun night, good beer, good food, and good friends. Civil Society is dog friendly, as you would imagine since their logo has a Boston Terrier. If you are in Jupiter, step in for a cold one at Civil Society and don't miss a chance to pair it with a BBQ sundae from Dr Smokehouse.
