Chattanooga Brewing Company

We pulled into Chattanooga, Tennessee at 6PM on a Friday night and made our way directly to the oldest craft brewery in town, Chattanooga Brewing Company, founded 2011. We were ready for our first experience on the thriving Tennessee craft brew scene. We enjoyed a warm welcome the second we sat at the bar which overlooks the brewhouse. We took time to browse the menu and then ordered up a flight. We started with Winter Warmer, a nice cold glass of spicy winter ale that goes down warm with hints of citrus and cinnamon. While we studied the menu we ordered a delicious dish of hummus with veggies and spent grain pretzel pieces for dipping. The spent grain pretzel was so good we ordered a full sized one which came on a dinner plate! Yummy! we are huge fans of anything made from spent grains.

Next up, the flight arrived. We had the Chickbock, New England IPA, Chestnut Street Brown, Browns Ferry, and Hill City IPA. All of them were cold glasses of craft beer goodness. The atmosphere was friendly, TV's playing Willy Wonka, people enjoying themselves at each table and we had a nice view of the full brew house and rows of fermentors. We could see pallets of ingredients waiting for brew day. As we spoke with our server she explained they will soon be the first in Chattanooga to have a female brewer. We like to find lots of variety, in the venues, the brews and approaches for managing a brewery. Chattanooga Brewing Co has it all working well for them. Dad didn't want to leave but I convinced him we had more "work" to do. We were pleasantly surprised by the tab, prices were very reasonable including the yummy pretzel. If you are in Chattanooga don't miss stopping in to see what's brewing at Chatt Brew.
