Ocean Sun Brewing

2017-03-12

To round out our Orlando tour, after having had a Wizards Brew and after picking up some homebrew supplies, we stopped in to visit Ocean Sun Brewing just a mile down the street from Orlando Homebrew Supplies. We stepped through the door and were immediately drawn to the back of the room where the 4barrel system stood and we could smell a fresh batch brewing. There's only low railing defining the taproom from the brewery so we literally leaned over the shoulder of the brewers as we talked and they tended to the latest IPA just finishing up the mash. We go the details on how they have been open for a year, doing well, having a great time and local reviews indicate they are doing it well. So it was time for us to take a seat at the back table, closest to the action, and order two flights. Batch 100 Hefeweizen, Freudian Lager, Mur De Huy Belgian Dark, Buchi Beer nitro milk espresso stout, 2BUCOO4U black IPA and West Coast Red Ale. We slow sipped our way from one end to the other starting with the light crisp Hef and ending with the Buchi stout. When everything lines up the way we like it, it's like a slow swing in a hammock. Light to dark and then back again. Sip, sip, sip tilt head back, and stare at the brewing underway. Ocean Sun is a great local brewpub with friendly staff, friendly brewers, and great craft beer.
