Welcome welcome welcome to Craft Brew Journal LLC.
We've had this idea brewing since early 2016. We like to visit craft breweries
near and far, we haunt homebrew shops wherever we find them. We mingle with
homebrew communities whenever we're invited. We attend craft beer festivals and
taste beer from around the world. We homebrew, we try new recipes, we keg and
bottle our beer, we built a 5 tap keezer and our garage has evolved into a taproom.
We try new equipment and and then we share our stories and reviews which often
entertain and sometimes baffle our friends. So here we go - a passion becomes a
business. Join us as we experience and promote everything about the craftbrew
revolution.
Does the world need another beer review magazine? Well, first thing, we're not
critics - we experience and share the goodness. And yes, if the world needs one
more brewery, one more specially designed brew pot, or one more nitro coffee stout,
then someone needs to be there to experience it and share the story. we hope you
sign up to receive an monthly email when we post new journal stories. We promise
thee will always be good, interesting, inspiring stories about amazing craft
brewing.

We launched the idea for Craft Brew Journal in 2016. Although, I think it actually goes back to the beercan collection I started in 1976. I was a paperboy delivering the morning newspaper when I stumbled across a beautiful can on the side of the road. the artwork on that can caught my attention - it was Tiger Beer. I put that one beer can on a shelf in the basement and it grew to over 300 cans. At the height of my collecting, my father actually wrote a letter allowing my highschool hockey coach to purchase beer for me while we were on the road playing in tournaments. My coach was such a great guy, he would take me to the liquor store after our games and I would select single cans and bring them home full for my collection. It's only natural that now my wife and friends join me on trips as we set out to review breweries around the world and see where that beer is made and maybe even bring home a can or two.
We're lucky to have a growing selection of craft breweries in our home town. After visiting all we had within our region we set out on our first brewcation in December 2016 to visited Las Vegas, NV. We knew Big Dog's Brewery had taken gold in the Great American Beer Festival and we wanted to see where the inspiration came from.
There is a custom in south Asia that says, after you share 3 cups of tea with
someone, you're friends for life. We don't just want to sample the beer we want to
stand in the home where it was made. We want to meet the family that helped raise it
and we want to make new friends. So what better way to do that than to share 3 pints
of golden fermented malt and hops.
